Local Authorities

Use Sustainability Works 2005 for preparing sustainability statements, a bespoke sustainable development policy for your authority and for establishing sustainable development targets for developers working in your area.

For local authority officers involved with housing and mixed use developments.

This 1/2 day hands on course will give you a general introduction to sustainable development and suggest ways to check and monitor developers’ sustainability proposals.

It will show you how to use the software to:

  • Write an overall sustainable development policy for building projects which can be used as guidelines for all housing developers working in your area.
  • Set particular sustainable development targets for major individual sites as guidance to potential developers
  • Use the software to monitor your authority’s sustainable development targets against individual developers’ proposals
  • Understand the BRE EcoHomes 2005 standard

The session will be in a small group, led by one of our sustainable development experts.

As well as demonstration sessions led by one of our team, you will have a chance to use the software first hand in our computer suite.

The session gives you a chance to network and share your experiences with other local authority planning and housing professionals as well as direct access to our team of sustainable development experts, who will be able to answer your questions.
