Policy writer is structured around the same 8 themes as the reference database but features additional detailed information about benchmarks such as BRE EcoHomes guidance, Housing Quality Indicators and the Housing Corporation’s Sustainability Toolkit.

You can start off by selecting only a limited range of issues for your policy, then add to it as your experience and understanding of the subject grows - do not be put off by the long list of issues and recommendations.

Your policy will be stored on our secure database and can be exported as a text file so that you can use it in reports. Once you have a policy, anyone else in your organisation can automatically work to that policy as a reference when they are looking at a development project.
